Job Description
CompuDirect is looking for an additional team member for our Socastee location. We are looking for someone that is excellent at working with customers and loves working with new technology in a family-run environment. Integrity is a must. You must have technical experience for this position.
Your role will be to repair computers and other electronic equipment, provide the best in customer service, and sales of computers and computer-related equipment.
In addition to repairing normal computer issues, you will be required to diagnose and repair many types of electronic devices, primarily desktop computers, laptops, and gaming systems. This will include software issues as well as hardware issues. You will need to diagnose and repair down to the component level using such devices as SMD soldering and desoldering equipment, microscopes, and bench meters of many types to include multimeter, capacitor and inductor analyzer, bench power supplies, etc. Basic electronic knowledge required such as ohm's law, capacitive and inductive reactance, etc.
Additional daily tasks include such things as greeting customers at the counter, answering the phone and email messages, and ordering spare and replacement parts and supplies as necessary. Applicant with computer programming experience a huge plus. We use PHP, Java, HTML, MySQL and all versions of Linux operating systems. The heaviest item you will be expected to lift is an occasional laser printer that may weigh up to 50 pounds.
This is a full time requirement of 40 hours per week and will usually not vary from that. Work hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. You may occasionally be required to accomplish repairs at a customer's site using your own transportation.
A Plus Certification is not required but applicant will be required to perform at or above that level.

CompuDirect is the oldest and largest computer sales and service center on the Grand Strand. We service all makes and models of computers from desktops to laptops, to printers and everything in between, in-shop and on-site. We also build and install network systems of all types. Travel in the local area will be necessary, so a reasonable car is needed. Certifications are a plus but the ability to perform the job is most necessary. Lifting laser printers is about the most physically demanding task, but we also install network cabling. Some ladder work will be necessary. We perform repairs down to the compnent level so soldering and use of test equipment is required.
